Customers Often Call Us To Say The Windscreen Rubber Does Not Fit Properly. After Much Investigation, It Has Become Apparent That The Original Windows Are Too Big In All Directions To Be Able To Use Our Rubber Seal. This Causes The Rubber To Not Want To Come Out Onto The Outer Surface As Much As It Should Exposing The Original Spot Welds Around The Window Opening.

The Rubber Seal We Use Is Manufactured In The UK And Designed To Use Only Toughened Glass. Some Customers Try To Use Laminated Glass Which Is Thicker And Therefore Prevents The Rubber Seal From Fitting Properly Especially On The Outer Lip. They Also Try To Cut Their Own Windows To Suit The Seal Which Is Impossible As The Size Of The New Glass Has Been Perfected To Suit The New Rubber Seal.  

It Is Impossible To Cut The Original Toughened Glass So We Have Brand New Toughened Glass Available Which Is The Correct Size Enabling The Fitting Of The New Rubber Without Any Complications. The Glass Has Been Cut To Allow The Rubber To Fit Perfectly. The Part Number For The Windows is GLS101U. You will need two of these. 

We Know This Is Not An Ideal Situation To Be Forced To Replace The Glass At The Time Of Fitting The Seal But Feedback From Our Customers Has Been Positive With The Comment That Who Would Want To Restore A Car And Fit 70 Year Old Glass Which In Most Cases Is Scratched And Pitted!
